P1

P1:

These were some of my basic learning designs:

Lesson 1:
In lesson 1 I photo-shopped an elephant onto a busy street. Using a variety of tool on Photoshop.

Lesson 2:
Here I learnt to change the head of the model from being Ed Sheeran to another man and make it look as it it was meant top be there. Along with this time use the stamp tool to blend in the background behind the man.

Lesson 3:
In lesson 3 we learned how to make a cover for a movie by using a gradient technique and by taking and using our own photos instead.

Task 4: This is my recreation of the Guardians of the galaxy movie poster using photoshop.

Task 5 (A): These are my text designs that i could use on my movie poster:

Task 6:

This is an example of a movie poster that uses complimentary colours:

This is an example of a poster that uses analogous colours:

This is a movie poster that uses triadic colours:

Task 7: Colour scheme

1. For my first colour scheme I used dark reds and light reds to fit my genre of my movie poster being a horror film. I used analogous colours as in my poster I am going to use different shades of red. This can be on my model i could use fake blood and create some special effects makeup to fit the theme. As well as is direct to my audience so they know what type of genre this film has and what to expect from this.

2. On my second colour scheme I used the red and green complimentary colours as feel like red on dark green stands out more as for example on hazard signs these colours are commonly used as they draw attention.

3. I used complimentary colours for my third colour scheme as I think these colours are relevant for a horror genre as in the back ground of my poster instead of using black i could used navy blue to draw more attention.

4. The last colour scheme I have consists of analogous colours as I feel reds, blacks and burgundy fit the genre well as they all are dark and gloomy colours that will help make my poster seem scary to target my audience better.

Task 9: Posters for inspiration:

Potential models:

Angus, 16 Lives in  the middle of no where has a hill close to his house to use as possible locations in photoshoot.

Jack, 16 Also lives in the middle of no where has an abandoned church near him.

Costume for my model:

I will be using the costume for the male for the male model on my photoshoot on Wednesday 17th October. As I need a girl model for my final photo so i will use the female costume for my final one.

This is my example photo from the photoshoot on Wednesday:

Model I will use for my movie poster:

Main character: Jessica
Age: 15
Genre: Horror
Brief Synopsis: My film will be a horror a young girl who gets brutally murdered by an older guy and seeks revenge on the people around her who didn't help her and the old guy who committed the crime and got away with it.

My example edit for my movie poster:
1.

For this idea i will position the font above the model center to the page. The font I will use is this one will be the nightmare font from the above font page in white. I will also edit the picture more so that the model blends into the picture better and has the shine on them from behind them.

Pros:

  • The poster fits my horror genre.
  • The models photo has good quality along with the background.
Cons:
  • Fonts not on the poster.
  • The backgrounds quite dark

2.

The font in this movie poster draft will be positioned in the left top corner in the 'curse of zombie' font from my font page. It will be in dark red/ burgundy colour as it will stand out more on the green forest setting as they are complimentary colours.

Pros:

  • The background is a clear image and not pixelated.
  • The poster fit my theme of a horror movie.
Cons:
  • The image is still quite dark for my model and would look better if it was lighter.

3.

In this draft I will use a dark font in the top right corner for the movie title and it will be in the font 'scare arms' from my font page above. I will also edit the model more so he blends in with the setting better.

Pros:
  • The forest background is fitting for my movie to create an eerie feel.
  • The photo quality of the model is high quality.
Cons:
  • I would struggle to find a coloured font to show up on the background.
  • I do not feel this fits the horror genre of my film.

Online Photoshop tutorial of an effect of my choice:
1.

Choose two images of your choice to blend and open them on photoshop. Then make sure the placement is where you want the image and to the correct size for you background.

2.

Choose the blend mode multiply to get rid of the white background colour off of the wine glass.  As multiplier hides 100% white.

3.

Then copy this layer as the wine glass has lost the shine due to the white being taken out from removing the background. And change the opacity to 40% repeating this step again for another layer.

4.

Then add another blending mode to the layers called 'screen' as screen hides 100% black.

5.

This will then create the white background to appear back onto the wine glass. Then to get rid of this and keep the shine double click on the layer and use the sliding tools to get rid of the dark areas. Then separate the tool to remove the white background.

6.

Select the magic want tool to remove the background from the wine glass and transfer this onto you background and then play about with the opacity to create you finish product.

My tester using this method:

This is my tester at this method. I don't think after trying this out I will be using this to add an effect onto my movie poster as it creates the image to loose it camera quality.

Here is an idea I used for my movie poster. However I feel this idea will not work. As I do not feel it works very well together because the model stands out too much from the background. And does not give my poster a professional look.  So I am going top scratch this idea and re work this.
