Production progress:

STEP 1:

Firstly, I created the background for my poster by using the gradient tool. I did this by changing the colours to black and a dark grey colour. Then I added a new layer and pressed the 'filter tool' and clicked on 'noise' which distorted the background to give it a textured effect to it.

STEP 2:

Next I used  a website called 'www.dafont.com' where I downloaded my font onto photoshop and typed my title in capitals using the 'insomnia' font from the horror section of the website. I then use the gradient font to add a dark red to the bottom of the red font to make it have a slight shadow to it.

STEP 3:

I then made my credit block for my movie poster using the 'steeltongs' font in white.

STEP 4:
I then made made my tag lines for my movie poster using the 'bloodthirsty font.' And used a dark red to fit the genre of my horror poster. I then place this under my title.

STEP 5:

I then repeated this step for my second tag line on my poster. and placed this above my credit block.

STEP 6:
This was the format to my poster looked like before I added my main photo to it.

STEP 7:

This is my final poster after I had added my main image I had edited using the 'quick selection' tool and had used the 'dodge tool' and the 'burn tool.' For my main image I did effects make up on my model to fit with my horror theme.

Evaluation:

This is my final poster I designed to fit my horror genre. In this it features a girl with sfx make-up to help incorporate gore from the genre into the poster. I also did this by making sure to use a font that relates and ties in nicely with my poster by using a blood dripping font to show that my theme is horror. Along with using the a blood red colour on most of my fonts to help show the theme and relate it to the image nicely so that my main image does not look out of place. I also added my credit block onto the bottom of this to finish my poster and make it look professional. I also set these fonts and my main image onto a distorted back ground using the gradient filter and using the noise filter to create texture to the background.
